SHIFT Missions Program Overview

Kimberly and Oscar, our Honduras program coordinators, are dedicated to serving the residents of the program. They serve selflessly day after day through a discipleship relationship that provides accountability, encouragement, and helps young adults in Honduras gain a Biblical worldview. Their heart is to see these residents mature into men and women who love the Lord and become independent citizens of Honduras.

Transition Program

The goal of the program is to equip young adults with the skills and abilities necessary to succeed as independent responsible citizens as we also encourage them to pursue ongoing education to reach their full potential in an environment of Christian discipleship. Most youth aging out of foster care and children’s centers struggle to succeed without a support network and guidance in the initial transition, thus we provide the support and guidance as they take on adult responsibilities.

Financial Training

As young adults, residents apply to be part of the program and agree to participate in training, budgeting, tracking expenses, and saving.

College Education

Our program leaders encourage them to pursue ongoing education to reach their full potential. We aid in providing college scholarships to those in the program.

Health & Wellness

Residents of the program participate in maintaining a healthy lifestyle in community with their peers and supervisors. Our team holds them accountable to initiating productive healthy lifestyle habits

Life Skills Training

Residents live in a house together in the bustling capital city of Tegucigalpa, where they live dorm style with a shared kitchen space and are taught to budget for themselves and are responsible for their own cooking and cleaning.

Discipleship

Through our team’s training, residents learn Biblical truths and learn how to develop professionally and personally in an environment of Christian discipleship.

Job Development

Young adults in the program learn how to use public transportation as they get familiar with the city. They receive support in entering the workforce and maintaining jobs in the area.
